Eternal Father, through the powerful intercession of our Mother of Perpetual Help, I come to beg Your guidance and strength, during the important time of courtship.

Help us to realise, that genuine love, deep and lasting is Your own gift to those who respect and reverence one another. Take from our hearts all trace of selfishness so that in all things we may help each other to grow in true friendship. Convince us that true love will not hurt…use…or abuse the one loved.

To this end, keep ever growing in us an ardent love of Your Son and our Saviour Jesus Christ by means of constant prayer and frequent Holy Communion.

May the bright hope of a happy marriage make us determined to prepare well, by avoiding sin and the dangers that can so easily lead us into sin.

Cling to God's love and grace

Daily Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary
Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary, I consecrate my entire self to the Most Holy Love of Your two hearts. I wish to make reparation for all the sins in the world, including my own.

I offer these things for the love of the Hearts of Jesus and Mary.

I will keep my mind on beauty and turn my thoughts from evil things. I will hold my temper and bear the mistakes of others with love and a forgiving heart.

I will admit when I am wrong and ask others to forgive me. I will not show off but remain humble. I will offer up all my sufferings, sicknesses and hurts and seek God’s will, not my own.

I will show appreciation for the kindness and blessings that I receive, and thank God for all things.

I will do everything in my life for love of God and I will love others as God has loved me.

O Sacred Heart of Jesus, through the intercession of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, receive the offering and consecration I now make of myself to You. Keep me faithful until death and bring me one day to the happy home in heaven.

I desire to live forever with God the Father and the Most Holy Spirit and You my Lord Jesus, together with Your Most Immaculate Mother. Amen

By that charity which united you to the Immaculate Virgin, Mother of God, and by that fatherly love with which you cherished the child Jesus, we humbly pray that you will graciously look upon that inheritance which Jesus Christ has purchased by His Blood and will assist us in our need by your power and strength.

Defend, Oh watchful guardian of the Holy Family, the chosen offspring of Jesus Christ. Aid us from on high, valiant defender in this conflict with the powers of darkness. Even as of old you rescued the child Jesus from the peril of His life, so now defend God’s Holy Church from the snares of the enemy and from all adversity. Shield us ever under your patronage so that, imitating your example and strengthened by your help, we may live a holy life, die a happy death and attain everlasting bliss in heaven. Amen

Be not hasty in judging one another

Prayer For The Handicapped: Loving Father, we pray for all who are handicapped in any way; the mentally retarded, the crippled, the blind, the deaf and the incurable. We pray, too for those who suffer spiritual, emotional or psychological limitations and feel no sense of worth.

May they all know the dignity You have bestowed abundantly on every human being and that they are specially precious in the sight of God, redeemed by the Blood of Jesus, and called by the Spirit to play an indispensable role in the building of God’s kingdom.

Lord God, be their strength and courage on the road of suffering which Christ has trodden and the Saints have followed, that they may offer You a heart that trusts even in darkness and pain. We ask this in the name of Him who took our weakness on Himself, Jesus Christ, Your Son and our Saviour. Amen

Prayer For Respect For Life: Heavenly Father, the beauty and dignity of human life was the crowning of Your creation. You further ennobled that life when Your Son became one with us in His incarnation. Help us to realize the sacredness of  human life and to respect it from the moment of conception until the last moment of death. Give us courage to speak with truth and love and with conviction in defence of life. Help us to extend the gentle hand of mercy and forgiveness to those who do not reverence Your gift of life. To all, grant pardon for the times we have failed to be grateful for Your precious gift of life or to respect it in others. We ask this in Jesus’ Name. Amen

Forgive my sins, Oh Lord, forgive me my sins; the sins of my youth, the sins of my age, the sins of my soul, the sins of my body, my idle sins, me serious voluntary sins, the sins I know, the sins I have concealed so long, and which are now hidden from my memory.

I am truly sorry for every sin, mortal and venial, for all the sins of my childhood up to the present hour. I know my sins have wounded Thy heart, Oh my Saviour, let me be freed from the bonds of evil through the most bitter passion of my Redeemer. Oh my Jesus, forget and forgive what I have been. Amen

Prayer For Those Who Misuse Alcohol Or Drugs: Oh Jesus, I come to implore Your mercy on behalf of those who misuse alcohol or drugs. Have pity on them for their sakes and that of their loved ones. I unite this prayer with Your sufferings when vinegar and gall were given You to drink. Give them the grace to admit their need, to seek the help by which this vice may be overcome. In Your name, Oh Jesus, and for the glory of Your Precious Blood, hear our prayers and grant our petitions. Amen.

He has shown the strength of His arm, He has scattered the proud in their conceit. He has cast down the mighty from their thrones and has lifted up the lowly. He has filled the hungry with good things and the rich he has sent away empty. He has come to the help of His servant Israel for He has remembered his promise of mercy, the promise He made to our fathers, to Abraham and his children for ever.
