Mary MacKillop Prayer

Mary MacKillop Prayer

Ever generous God,
You inspired Saint Mary MacKillop
To live her life faithful to the Gospel of Jesus Christ
and constant in bringing hope and encouragement
to those who were disheartened, lonely or needy.

With confidence in your generous providence
and through the intercession of Saint Mary MacKillop
We ask that you grant our request...

We ask that our faith and hope be fired afresh by the Holy Spirit
so that we too, like Mary MacKillop, may live with courage, trust and openness.

Ever generous God hear our prayer.
We ask this through Jesus Christ. Amen.

A Woman of God

St. Mary MacKillop was a woman who believed that God loved her. After her ex-communication that time, she wrote "The calm beautiful presence of God I shall never forget."

St. Mary MacKillop's Motto

Mary’s motto for life was
“Never see a need without doing something about it”

Nothing can hinder from doing God's work

Mary also suffered from poor health during her days. She wrote entries on her journal about her condition, yet it does not hinder her from doing God's work.

A heart for children

Mary  had a special place in her heart for children, especially the sick, the lonely and suffering.

She became the voice of God's love as she responded to those in need.

Once a poor lady was sitting in the gutter and very ill. Sister Mary's companion thought that the lady was just drunk. Sister Mary sat with the woman and realized that she needed help. She brought the woman to a chemist shop where she was assisted.

May God bless you all...

The Mary MacKillop rose was cultivated by Swane Nursery in 1985 when the Sisters of St. Joseph approached them for hybrid tea rose with shell-pink blooms and rose pink outer petals. It has a strong fragrance that symbolize St. Mary MacKillop's contribution to the works of God.
